In Japan, a textile manufacturing company called Seiren Company Limited has created a line of unique men's underwear that is designed to kill bodily odors, such as flatulence. Responding to a request from a doctor, the company created a fiber that contained ceramic particles that absorbs unpleasant odors, which used to develope the fart odor-hiding undergarment.
Seiren apparently has seen very favorable sales of this underwear in Japan, especially among medium to large company businessmen. This has encouraged the company to expand the use of their unique fiber to create other clothing, such as odor killing socks and T-Shirts. More details of this story can be found here.
This is an interesting evolution in the international clothing industry, but I am curious about how comfortable this odor killing fabric is and how durable it is through common outdoor use, like getting wet from a rainstorm.
